Email on your domain
How to connect an external email service with MX and TXT
Lumi does not create mailboxes. Choose an email service, add the domain there, and copy the records it gives you into the bot: My domains → domain → DNS settings.
Records to add
- MX – receiving email. Name: Skip. Value with a priority:
10 mx1.provider.com. Each MX is a separate record. - Domain verification – a TXT or CNAME from the service. Copy the name and value exactly, a CNAME usually needs DNS only.
- SPF – TXT, the value from the service dashboard.
- DKIM – TXT, the name and value from the service dashboard.
- DMARC – TXT named
_dmarc, the service suggests the policy.
Then go back to the email dashboard and run the domain check.
Common mistakes
- Two SPF records – keep one combined record.
- Extra quotes in TXT – paste the text without them.
- MX without a priority – it must be
10 mx1.provider.com, not just the server. mailbehind the Cloudflare proxy – email needs DNS only.- Third-party NS – add records at the current DNS provider, not in the bot.
Exact values depend on the service, do not copy them from other people's examples. Check whether the records are visible: DNSChecker.
